Esteban and his team gave us an amazing fishing experience in the heart of Patagonia! We are not the most experienced fly fisherman, but Esteban and Martin were patient and wonderful teachers. We caught a ton of trout over our two-day trip and saw scenery and wildlife from a vantage that few get to see. I highly recommend a trip with Southern Loops…you will make memories that will last forever!

I had the pleasure of spending a fishing day with Esteban Urban of Southern Loops Fly Fishing. If you find yourself in San Martin de los Andes in Argentina Patagonia and want to enjoy a day of fishing with an excellent local guide then Esteban is your choice. He was exceptionally knowledgeable and definitely put us on the fish. He seamlessly managed two fishermen with different levels of experience with timely pointers and quiet observation. Managed to get my personal best Brown Trout on the trip. Highly recommend.

From our arrival in Argentina we were taken care of in all aspects of the travel experience. The fishing in San Martin Do Los Andes with Southern Loops was exceptional it was better than anything I could have imagined. I have fly fished all over the USA and schedule multiple 3 day floats thru the year. This trip tops all of them. The rivers are clean, full of trout, the landscape is stunning and the people are world class. Southern loops made the trip special, the guides were knowledgable and talented and we rotated thru all of them in the week - My wife and I would be very hard pressed to find a favorite. The food served at the camp and lunch’s and dinners were authentic Argentina and delicious. The camp was clean neat and ready The welcome dinner and the closing dinner were special and personal.

After five days straight fishing the rivers of Patagonia with Esteban and Martin, my hands hurt from hauling in so many big fish! From the start of the first day on the Collón Cura to the final cast on the Rio Chimehuin, I expected some big brown or rainbow to grab my fly and run down river on every cast. You quickly see how well Esteban and Martin know the waters - from how they read the water and set you up for the best chance at hooking big fish, to how confident and safely they maneuver down the rivers. It's hard to believe how quickly the long days pass when you're having this much fun. The food at lunch and the camp was beyond what I expected in quality and quantity. The hospitality of Esteban and his whole family on the evenings we spent at their family home was really special. I'm already looking at how to get back to San Martin to spend more time on the water with Esteban and Martin.

We spent five days fishing with Esteban and Martin and had a fantastic time. Each day we were able to fish new water, catching tons of fish and some of the biggest trout of my life! The traditional Argentine food was incredible both on the river and at the “Quincho” with Esteban and his family. I would recommend Esteban and his guides (especially Martin) to anyone looking to fish diverse water and see what Northern Patagonia has to offer. Hasta la proxima!

Our five days with Southern Loops Fly Fishing were absolutely terrific. Esteban and Martin were very good guides who got us on lots of fish. They were patient and hard working. The accommodations in town were comfortable and close to shops and restaurants and a short walk to the lake. The food and wine were delicious and the over all experience was unforgettable. In many respects, we enjoyed this trip more than staying at the all inclusive lodges. We highly recommend Southern Loops for your Patagonia adventure.

For my husbands 50th birthday, he wanted a "once in a lifetime" Argentina/Patagonia fly fishing trip. I found Esteban and Southern Loops through a local fly fishing shop and started the process of booking our guided trip. From the beginning, Esteban was very timely in his responsiveness, he was patient with all our questions and his planning and packing information was super thorough and spot on! When we arrived, he welcomed us at the airport and from there is was super smooth. All transportation to and from the fishing sites was well coordinated, the food was AMAZING, fishing was FABULOUS and the whole experience was perfect.Esteban was patient with me, as I am a moderately competent fisherwoman, and his precise and easy manner with instructions was super helpful in improving my fishing! I easily was able to improve my casting distance and accuracy in only a day - and he was super patient with our tangles/snags.The hotel was nice and met our needs and the town offered good food and shopping options.If you are looking for a fun, exciting and relaxing trip with your spouse, I would highly recommend. For this trip, it was just the two of us, and I would definitely do it again - either with just my husband, or a larger group.

Esteban and his team are meticulous in their planning, preparation and execution. From coordinating travel between airports, getting you in touch with locals to help you navigate tight airline transfers, hotel accommodations, shuttles between fishing destinations, incredible home-made meals, guiding diverse and exceptional waterways, and tailoring his instruction to the level of the angler, there is no detail that isn’t covered with the utmost thought and excellence.I’ve fished with guiding services all over North America, and can easily say that Esteban’s group provided an unequaled level of service and quality. I would highly recommend him to any angler, of any experience level, that wants an outstanding adventure.

Estaban and his team are first class. They arranged everything for the week. Making the trip so easy. And of course, the fishing. Each day we fished different water. Including a really fun overnight camping trip 1/2 way through a river float. We pulled up to the campsite that was totally set up with tents cots and sleeping bags. And, we enjoyed roasted lamb over an open fire. 3 rivers and a lake (really fun). Estaban and guides put us on plenty of fish over the 6 fishing days.Estaban and his family made us feel really welcome to Patagonia. And the food? Awesome. I would definitely recommend. Southern Loops.

Esteban and his crew of guides were amazing. A group of 8 women anglers spent a week fishing in Patagonia on several rivers. We enjoyed our time on and off the rivers and lake. The fishing was both fun and challenging. The fishing, accommodations and food were well worth the value.

Just got back from an amazing all women’s fishing adventure with Southern Loops in Patagonia! I had never fly fished before, and was with a group that was much more experienced. The guides were excellent at accommodating different skill levels in the same boat and helping me catch a big rainbow my first day! I highly recommend Southern Loops. Esteban and his crew were amazing. The communication before our trip, the details and support during the trip, and most importantly our time on the water all went off beautifully! If you are looking for one of the best guided fly fishing experiences you can have in Patagonia (Lakes District), SouthernLoops should be your first choice. Esteban and his family run SouthernLoops like a well oiled machine. Everything is so well organized and thoughtful - two words not ordinarily associated with fly fishing guiding services. From airport transfers, to hotels, to your time in cities on your way to Patagonia, and of course the fishing experience itself, it’s all taken care of and run professionally but with a lovely personal touch by Esteban and his team.My wife and I had one of our favorite shared travel memories during our week with Esteban. I certainly cannot wait to return for round 2.

My son and I had the good fortune of fishing with Esteban for 3 days on 3 different rivers. He treated us like family. Esteban is very knowledgeable about all aspects of fly fishing but his most impressive attribute was his commitment to the protection of the fish as well as the environment they depend on. Out trip with Esteban, his guides, and the entire team at Southernloops was without question one of the most memorable experiences of my life. The fly fishing was good, the guides worked hard to help maximize our experience, and the service provided by Esteban and his team was immaculate! The scenery, the food, the wine, the culture, and the guides were all outstanding. Also, I was able to share this trip with my two sons and a good friend…and Esteban and his team went out of their way to make sure we maximized our experience. The personal touch was absolutely incredible….so if you’re looking for a 5 Star fishing experience in Patagonia I would highly recommend Esteban and Southern Loops!!

Southern Loops Fly Fishing and Esteban made a great ending to a wonderful trip to Argentina. I have always wanted to fish the Patagonia rivers, and Esteban help both myself and my wife enjoy the fishing based on our skill levels.Best of all, Esteban is a master guide, with an excellent understanding of the right fly and the right cast placement! (He also has the patience of a saint when untangling our lines).It was an absolute pleasure to fish with him and the team, and we were well looked after with more than enough food and drinks! Very happy with our trip, and next time we are in Argentina, we will be back to visit Esteban!

Southern Loops Fly Fishing and Esteban are the best outfitters and guides in the Patagonia. We have been three times and never has there been one problem or issue at all. They have great planning and access to the best rivers for sure. As long as we are able we will always come back to fish with Esteban and his well seasoned and experienced team.
